Kothasatram/Indiranagar Village Homes

Here are some pictures of the houses we began over three years ago in Kothasatram/Indiranagar Village, India.
The white-washed houses are complete and there are many happy families living in them now. The first picture (left) is of a house dedication ceremony I was invited to take part in. Just after I cut the ribbon, the family moved in and demolished their old mud and thatch hut!
There are 5 houses that have yet to have their roof slabs poured because the government has not released their portion of the necessary funds for those houses. This has happened because those five families did not have the proper documentation, or none at all, to certify that they have the right to live on that land.
Ravi and ARV are working tirelessly to hep these families prepare the necessary documentation and to secure the remaining funds from the government. It will take some time, but these five families will hopefully be able to move out of their old mud and thatch huts and into their new permanent, safe homes just like their neighbors.
